mutire tribe

Hello and welcome to mutair history (article 1) "Mutair the largest bedouin tribe, estimated at about 1,200,000 members live in the Nejd plateau, also, many small families from the Mutair tribe live in the Gulf States. This tribe had the utmost influence on the ruling family of Kuwait and are considered the most influential tribe in Kuwait in terms of money, power and respect" (article 1 quoted from en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Bedouin) HISTORICAL FLASHES Mutair is the name of a tribe residing in a region bounded by the Red sea and the Arabian Gulf. Its origin goes back to the famous old arabic tribe Qatafan who lived between Al-Madinah and Al-Qassem. Al-Omari ( d. 1320) stated in his book entitled "Msalik Alabsar Fi Mmalik Alamsar" that Mutair was explicitly known as a tribe in the Hijaz region (i.e. the western part of Arabia). On the other hand, Al-Kalkshandi mentioned that Mutair is a branch of Fizarah belonging to Qatafan. Based upon this, it can be concluded that Mutair is the Qatafani groups who remained in arabia and gathered under the name of Mutair which is originally a branch of Qatafan. Al-Samhoudi in his book " Wafaa Al-Wafaa" brought to attention that Mutair became a known and famous clan at that time and took action against rulers who tried to overlap its properties. He wrote about a very interesting incident concerning the Mutair people. In 1407, a battle occurred between Jammaz Al-Husaini ( ruler of Al-Madinah) and some mutairis. It resulted in the killing of Jammaz. No surprise. Jammaz had acted badly when he stole Al-Hijrah AlNabawiyah and Al-Masjed Al-Nabawy ( mosque of the prophet PBUH). Later on , Mutair starts to arise in Hijas history specifically in the 14, 15 and 16 centuries. As a consequence of Mutair becoming a very strong tribe, it moved to Najd where Mutair had battles with other very famous tribes such as Anazah, Dhafeer, Al-Fodool and Qahtan. In 17 and 18 centuries, Mutair was the dominant tribe in Najd. After that, Mutair beat Bni-Khalid and their leader Ibn-Oraier in Al-Rudayemah in 1818. Al-Rudayemah was the point where Ibn-Orier, ruler of eastern part of arabia, vanished. As a result, Mutair captured lands under Bni-Khalid and began to move from Najd to east. Mutair Nasab (Divisions) As it is inferred in historical flashes that Mutair belongs to the famous old arabic tribe called Qatafan. Mutair nowadays is divided into three major groups: 1-Elwa 2-Bni Abdellah 3-Buraih Each one of these groups has its own independence but all become one when a matter related to their tribe arises. "All for one and one for all" Elwa is a very famous group of mutair. That is because many leading families belong to Elwa. The famous ones being: Al-Ddwshan (i.e. leaders of all Mutair) Al-Faghamah (leader of Oon Elwa) and Bin-Lami(leader of Al-Jiblan). Elwa is usually called Ahl Alraddat. Elwa is divided into three clans: 1- Al-Muhah 2- Al-Jiblaan 3- Tho ion Second major group of Mutair is Bni Abdellah, the group which can be considered a tribe by it self. The people of this group are known for their strength and fighting abilities and skills. When counting their victorious battles against other tribes, you reach a conclusion that the Bni Abdellah are a very strong and unbeaten people. Bni Abdellah has their own EZWAH (i.e. Awlad Abbad). Shouting out this word makes one reminicise of a very long history full of sacrifices. Bni Abdellah is divided into six big clans: 1- Al-Suaabah 2- Bni-Aziz 3-Al-Oonah 4- Al-Shalalihah 5- Al-Hwaimilat 6- Maimoon The third major group of Mutair is Buraih which is famous for its own heroes. One of the well known heroes is Tirahib bin Shari Bin Bsayyies. He is known as the hero of the Arabian Peninsula since that time. Buraih is divided into three clans: 1- Wasil 2- Al-Suaraan 3- Al-Hamadeen There are a lot of references that will help in knowing the history of Mutair.
